1. Who we are
Local Picks Guide (localpicksguide.com) is operated by 202 N Cedar Ave, STE #1, Owatonna, MN 55060. Write to [email protected] about anything on this page. A person answers.
2. What you are buying
A custom destination guide: a written document, researched and assembled for your destination, your dates and the people travelling with you, delivered as a print-ready PDF.
Guides are sold as fixed-price tiers by the length of your trip: Short (3-5 days of travel) at $29; Standard (6-10 days of travel) at $49; Extended (11-15 days of travel) at $79; Grand (16-20 days of travel) at $99. Trips of 21 days or more are quoted individually (Ask for a quote). One optional extra is offered: Rush at $9.99 — Your guide within 24 hours instead of 48-72.
A guide is research and suggestions. It is not a booking, and we are not a travel agent. We do not reserve, hold, buy or cancel anything on your behalf, we take no payment for anything a guide points you at, and we are not a party to any arrangement you make with a restaurant, hotel, operator or transport provider. You book your own travel.
3. Delivery
Your guide is delivered by email, normally within 48-72 hours of us receiving your completed questionnaire — not of your payment, because we cannot start until we know where you are going. If you buy the Rush extra, that window is the one stated on the pricing page. If anything is going to take longer than we said, we tell you rather than let the date pass.
4. Refunds
Your guide is researched and written for you after you order. If we do not deliver it, you are refunded in full. If what arrives is not what this site says you bought — the wrong destination, missing a section the pricing page promises, or unreadable — tell us and we rebuild it or refund you in full, your choice. Every tier also includes one free rebuild if it is not right for you.
Because each guide is researched and written to order, we do not refund on the grounds that you would have chosen different places than we did. Opening hours, prices and rules can change after we check them; that is why every guide tells you to confirm anything critical before you go, and a change of that kind is not a defect. To ask for a rebuild or a refund, write to [email protected].
5. What a guide cannot do
We check that a place is open and still doing the thing it is known for at the time we research it, and where something is time-sensitive we print the date we checked. Places still close, sell out, change hands and change their rules. A guide is our best current answer, not a warranty about the state of the world on the day you arrive. Confirm anything your trip depends on — a reservation, a permit, a timed entry, a closure — directly with the place before you rely on it.
Where a guide links you somewhere to book and we would earn something if you use that link, the page says so. The link exists only because it was already the answer.
6. What you may do with it
Your guide is licensed to you and the people travelling with you, for your own use. Print it, share it with your party, quote it. Do not resell it, republish it, or present it as your own work.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with a guide is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota.
9. Changes
If these terms change, the version in force for your order is the one published on the day you ordered. The date at the top of this page is the last change.
